I’ve experimented with several signature marks over the past few years, and I do like this one. I have mixed feelings about signatures in general, given the changeable nature of my own trajectory.
I think the only trace of myself that I can carry faithfully is the impression I leave on people close to me, which I can’t really expect a signature (or a handle, or a brand) to represent. This may be a major disadvantage in a grand attention economy, but it’s one I’m happy to accept.
Thinking a lot about mortality and legacy — in particular, the legacy that you build by showing people you love them (more consequential for the world than any statue in any square). Can you tell?
