How Long I’ve Waited

“They told me I could come out when the sky turned red and the sun turned into the moon. For 1000 years, I’ve wanted to feel the air. This may not be the air I was thinking of, but finally, I can move, I can open my eyes, and I can cross the threshold.”
For this one, I just drew the window first. Once I had that down, the window evoked the creature looking out from the pile of rubble. Once the creature was looking out the window, I got to decide what he was seeing.
I struggled a bit at that point, thinking maybe he was seeing a beautiful day and feeling trapped in his prison. Eventually, I decided I would give him his own little apocalypse out past the window.
So now we all get to decide how he is feeling about his situation. Maybe he is one of the dark creatures, finally waking up to something he can participate in. Or maybe he is the unlikely hero who guards the world against whatever eventuality has descended upon the world.
