What’s Done

Yesterday I did many things.

Today I did only one thing.

But that thing will be remembered forever.

Do you see my beacon? Do you see the tower, lit and smoking like tallow? Now the world will know…

They will know the tower’s authority is not absolute. They will know the tower’s voice is not the voice of the gods. The gods wouldn’t let a heathen set fire to their chosen conduit.

The world will know that the gods don’t care about the tower. And by the time the tower falls, nobody else will care either.

I only did one thing today, but still

It was a good day.
